Bhandaru Sadasiva Rao

Sterling Patriot and Litterateur Bhandaru Sadasiva Rao is a man of many facets. Respected Sadasiva Rao a prominent advocate, began his social service innings by turning into a Pracharak of the RSS in Andhra Pradesh, India. A staunch nationalist and democrat, he was imprisoned for 21 months for his opposition to the Emergency during 1975-77. An able organizer and visionary Shri Sadasiva Rao, was instrumental in forming and leading a number of institutions. Among them are:

  • Founder Editor Jagriti (a nationalist Telugu weekly magazine since 1948)
  • Founder Bharatiya Vidya Kendram, Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh
  • Sarasvathi Vidya peetham at the national level in both Telugu states
  • Jatiya Sahitya Parishat, both Telugu states
  • Akhila Bharatiya Sahitya Parishat, New Delihi
  • Potana Panchashati, Warangal
  • Bharatiya Rachayitala Samiti, Both Telugu States
  • Chatrapathi Shivaji Memorial, Sri Sailam... to name a few.

Besides being the office bearer of a number of organizations, Sri Sadasiva Rao had been on the national executive of the RSS for a considerable time. He was the working president for the centenary celebrations of Guruji MS Golwalkar in Andhra Pradesh, India. A good translator from Hindi and English, he rendered KM Munshi's Jai Somnath and the 8-Volume Krishnaavatara into Telugu. This multifaceted personality is also a brilliant orator.A man of letters and a poet, Shri Sadasiva Rao published a number of books in Telugu including:
